We are very happy to let you know that Maria: A Journal of Marian Studies (Volume 5.2) is now available online: https://www.marianstudies.ac.uk/maria-new-series-vol-5-2-nov

In this issue you will find impressive articles on 'The Immaculate Conception in the light of Kashmir Shaivism' by John Dupuche; and 'Marian Devotion as an Expression of the Self-Understanding and Public Face of the Church' by Sarah Jane Boss.
It is always a pleasure to include book reviews and our latest issue draws attention to three contrasting Marian publications: Marian Reflections on War and Peace: Trauma, Mourning, and Justice in Ukraine and Beyond (edited by Lenart Škof, Emily A. Holmes and Pavlo Smytsnyuk); Diego G. Passadore's Mary, the New Woman: A Judeo-Christian view of the Conception, in the history of Salvation, of the Divine Will in the Sovereign of Heaven; and Co-Redemptrix: The Relevance of a Marian Doctrine for Our Time (edited by Serafino M. Lanzetta).
We want our journal to be a home for debate so, as we approach the Christmas season, it is an appropriate time to begin a discussion on the historicity of the Virginal Conception of Jesus, with Chris Maunder and Sarah Jane Boss offering counter arguments. We hope to include further papers on this subject in future issues and welcome contributions from our readers.
As we encounter various reactions to the Vatican's latest Marian document Mater Populi Fidelis, we are also pleased to publish a letter on that very topic from Brendan D. Towell, whose article entitled 'Mary as Mediatrix: Harmonizing Yves Congar’s Caution and John Paul II’s Enthusiasm' made a valuable contribution to our May 2025 issue. We hope that Mr Towell's letter will encourage other people to join the conversation and write to the editors with their own opinions on Marian subjects via our email address:
