We have just learned the very sad news that Fr Philip Endean, a dear friend of the Centre for Marian Studies, died on 18th September 2023.
Philip was very much involved with the CMS in its early days. He was an authority on the theology of Karl Rahner, and he taught on our first summer school, and also at numerous evening classes and day schools. He served on the CMS Consultative Committee for many years and was always a tremendous support.
For the last years of his life, Philip lived and taught at the Centre Sèvres in Paris, and he will be buried there on Tuesday 26th September. We send our sincere sympathy to his family, friends and the Jesuit community who mourn his passing.
